JOCW Top@>>@AROOC2011

A decade has passed since MIT announced the concept of OpenCourseWare to the public and three years have passed since the OCW Consortium has been established as a registered non-profit organization. Today more than 250 universities have published over 18,000 courses from universities around the world. Various special activities related to Open Education have been emerging in many Asian countries in recent years.  In November 2009 “The 1st Asia Regional OCW Conference 2009” was held in Seoul, Korea hosted by Korea University, and in November 2010, “The 2010 Asia Regional OpenCourseWare and Open Education Conference” was held in Taipei, Taiwan hosted by the Taiwan OCW Consortium (TOCW). Through these conferences we were able to discuss the experiences, know-how and challenges shared among Asian countries. In 2011 we held our 3rd conference, " Asia Regional OpenCourseWare and Open Education Conference 2011 (AROOC 2011)" at Meiji University, Kanda-Surugadai Campus in Tokyo on November 7-8, 2011.
